this game has a mediocre single player mode but a great multiplayer mode
this has the standard sports line up of modes:
exibition-get straight into a match
career-play accross the world
practice-learn the skills to make it big
practice mode
i didnt find this very helpful as you dont get to play the shots youre taught straight away and the loading of it takes an eternity.surely if its practice you should be actually be able to practice.
exibition
this is quite good for long afternoons as you can get straight into play.
one problem i have is that theyre cshould be unlimited sets and less long action replays after every shot
career
career is probably the best single mode of the game as it has a wide variety of difficultys and skills to master.
to perfect youre skills you go to coaches to perfect such things as your backhand,forehand and serve etc.
to increase youre skills you have 14 stars to spread over the 3 levels of difficultys bronze,silver and gold.the practice sessions are pretty easy until you get to the gold coaches which cost a lot of money and are super hard having a nearly impossible time limit and ridiculous goals.
sponsors
you can be signed up with sponsors where you can get new clothes and more money.there are 4 challenges you have to complete in this order:
exibition-complete an easy exibition
local commercial-use youre best shots to hit the targets
international commercial-you the designated shots to hit the targets
gala match-play an exibition match against a world elite player of thatsponsor
clothes/gear
a varity of clothes and gear such as tennis rackets and shoes etc
tournaments
these can be easy in the beginning but soon jump up in difficulty.there are four levels of difficulty
-minor pro-
-pro-
-star-*
-legend-*
the star and legend tournaments are pretty easy but they soon step up in difficulty when you reach the star and legend tournaments.
note*these give you lots of ranking points and it is vital you win one to reach the top rankin modes
to sum up the single player is a good tennis career mode but is only worth playing if youve got time.one of the better tennis single player modes
multiplayer
this is the selling point of the game and also gets back to my reason of why i am glad i got it free with my playstation.the multiplayer mode is awesome and is pick up and play fun as you can use any button on the d-pad to return a shot but still has the accuracy and technicality for experience players.if you want a good multi player sports game then buy this game
to sum up this game is a good multiplayer but beware of the loading screens as they take an eternity to load up hope you enjoyed the reveiw
