All this hype over what exactly?

I'm going to give it to ya straight, a hell of a lot of people are givin top spin a high score that it doesn't deserve. Now I know my score doesn't reflect what I'm saying, but I'll tell you why. Graphically this game can compete with the X-BOX 360, this game boasts excellent character animations, well designed courts and a smooth frame rate, the techincal enhancements over the past few years have been used to their full extent by XSN sports. Also, this game boasts amazingly realistic SFX, the atmosphere can definitely be felt from the comfort of your living room, the crowd screams as you score point after point, there is a distinct echo as you hit the ball and the soundtrack on the meus isn't half bad either. This game has alright gameplay. The matches that you play are both fun and challenging and the AI is very VERY clever. This may sound good, but the main flaw is that although the tennis is excellent, At the end of the day there is only tennis that can be played. Ther isn't anything else for you to do, the idea of training your character is over too quickly (Virtua tennis had a much more comprehensive and enjoyable training system) and once you have a fully trained character there are only tournaments to play in. These tournaments have no learning curve, some matches are easy and others are INSANELY difficult.

This game is very good value for money, having a very extensive career mode (although the career mode is the only thing to do in the game).

On the whole, this game has everything to create an amazing tennis sim, myroblem is that there is only tennis to keep you hooked and there has been nothing else included to make the game fun throughout. SO if its a great tennis sim that your looking for then you should definitely buy top spin, but if your looking for a little bit more, then I would recommend that you don't bother.
