The tony hawk series peeks with Pro Skater 3, and has been declining ever since.

I am nothing short of disappointed with the 5th installment of the Tony Hawk series. Although Underground adds many new installments such as driving, walking, and a pretty good story mode, the game is simply too easy. Part of the blame goes to tony hawk pro skater 4, because in this game they introduced Flatland tricks. A flatland trick is simply when you do a trick while you are inside of a manual. The reason this is bad is because you can do anywhere from 10 to 25 tricks inside one manual, which can lead to 200,000+ points in one trick. In THPS 2 and 3 the manual was uased to chain tricks, which actually requires skill. There is no skill required in THUG. In fact, I remember playing horse with a couple of friends, and all it turned out to be was a manualing contest. There were these beautiful levels created for this game, but what's the point in skating them when all you have to do is find 5 feet of flat space and pull up your manual. I beat normal (2nd hardest difficulty) in 3 hours. Starting with THPS 4, the series becomes a good series rather than a superb series.
