It's time to thrash! Activision delivers an amazing N64 port of its hit PlayStation game.

User Rating: 9 | Tony Hawk's Pro Skater N64
The first time I played Tony Hawk Pro Skater for PlayStation I was in heaven. The game totally nailed the skateboarding sensation I was looking for, delivering realistic board and rider physics, an unparalleled trick and combo system and enough non-linear environments to keep me busy forever. So when I heard about Activision's decision to port the game over to Nintendo 64, I had my doubts, mainly in regards to the visuals and framerate. But with that said, I couldn't be happier with the final product developer Edge of Reality has given us. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater N64 is every bit as good as the PlayStation version, features all the boarders, tricks, environments and different gameplay modes, and looks beautiful. While the game's textures are overall less crisp than those in the PlayStation game and the music tracks have been dumbed down, the framerate is actually improved!
Simply put, the best skateboarding game ever created just got a little better. If you're even remotely interested in this title, I recommend running to your nearest retailer right now and picking it up. You're going to love it.

Presentation: Almost everything the PlayStation game featured means skateboarding as a videogame finally done right. Pro boarders, awesome environments, loads of fun 9/10

Graphics: Solid framerate combined with a detailed look, huge 3D worlds and realistic animation. While textures aren't as crisp as the 32-bit version, the improved fluidity more than makes up for it 8/10

Sound: Almost all of the punk tracks from the CD game -- sure, they're dumbed down and looped, but they still sound great. And the sound effects are top. 7/10

Gameplay: Brilliant. Genius control, combo system and design. Great non-linear levels. And a tricks-combo and hidden items system to bring it all together. Wow! 10/10

Lasting Appeal: Trying to top your score in a single-session game will keep you busy all year. Add a wide selection of levels and a two-player mode. Could you ask for better? 10/10

Overall: 9/10

My Verdict: Buy It :)
