Finally we have a GOOD Tony Hawk game since Proving Ground.

User Rating: 8 | Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD X360
Before I begin the review I would like to just take a minute to apologize for not doing a review in so long that won't ever happen again I promise. So let's start the review on...Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD!!!!! Now first some back story on this game. The very first Tony Hawk game was released in late 1999 to mid 2000 on several platforms. The most popular version being the Sega Dreamcast version. It was and still is to this day the most addictive Tony Hawk game right next to THPS 3 and THUG 1. Later on in 2000 Neversoft released a sequel titled Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and it was just as good if not better. The next few Tony Hawk games would continue their repeated succesion until THUG 2. Which I don't hate THUG 2 but I will have to talk about that some other time. Since THUG 2 these games have been becoming less popular until EA Skate took Tony Hawk's throne. It seemed that Tony Hawk games would be done forever with the sequel to Tony Hawk Ride titled Tony Hawk Shred sold 3,000 copies in the first week. Yikes! So after 1 year of no word on what laid next in the Tony Hawk games we get an HD reboot of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2. So let's begin.

Graphics:

Let me just right now that unlike most HD remake collections that most major game companies sell Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD ACTUALLY remastered their game the right way. By completely giving the graphics a massive face lift
Which I think they needed considering how dated THPS 1,2,3,and 4 look nowadays. So yes this is a REAL HD graphic remaster. Graphics overall:10/10

Sound:
Nothing special here. 1/2 of the songs are from the first 2 games and 1/2 are new songs. You still have you're skater grunt everytime you bail. Sound Overall: 7/10

Controls:
Unlike the last 3 Tony Hawk games(yes I count Tony Hawk Motion on DS as part of the main series) this game actually uses...(GASP!!!!) A CONTROLLER!?!?!?!?!?!? YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU ROBOMODO!!!!!! But does that mean the controls are perfect. Well...no. Their not terrible but sometimes they feel a little stiff. (Maybe Neversoft should have stuck with Tony Hawk instead of Guitar Hero) What I mean by stiff is that sometimes when you push the A or X button (depending on whether you are playing the 360 or PS3 version. PC I have no idea what you push) you're skater won't start riding right away. Luckily time does not decrease until you're skater starts riding. Controls overall: 7.9/10

Gameplay:
Fortunately if you wondering whether or not the gameplay is the same as the first two. You have nothing to worry about. This game plays EXACTLY like THPS 1 and 2 (DLC to include THPS 3 does not count) so if you have ever played THPS 1,2,3,and 4 then you should know what to expect. Gameplay overall: 9/10

Overall: I would give this game an 8/10. This game actually got me back into Tony Hawk games after my hiatus from them. If you have enough money to get this game and Have not played a Tony Hawk game since THUG 2 or American Wasteland you should give this series another chance. Maybe we will see a bright future for Tony Hawk games. Untill a sequel comes out I will see you guys later. Peace. =)
