Absolute disrespect for PC gamers.

User Rating: 7.3 | Tony Hawk's American Wasteland PC
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is the 7th Tony Hawk's skating arcade game. In earlier games you skated around, performed a variety of tricks, completed challenges, unlocked boards, clothing, areas and whatnot. Later in the series, features such as getting off the board and walking around were implemented. Finally, a Story Mode was added. Each game offered something new and original, and THAW also delivers some new features, from tricks to a loading-free world.
To begin with, graphics in THAW were slightly tweaked - there's a bit of a blur and a bloom to make the visuals look smoother. The textures got a little bit more of detail, too. However, facial animations have gotten worse: they flap their mouths like a cow munching on grass. Body animations are improved, though: you hop over a fence and your body leans to the side a little when you turn whilst running. Overall, the graphics got a sweet update, but I personally dislike the minor bloom and blur.
Fortunately, there's not much to sound, since it's pretty much the same as in THUG2. Of course, there are new areas and new sounds to fit them, and I found them fitting. As for the music, if you're a fan of old Hip-Hop, punk or rock, you might like it, which was not the case for me. Apart from the soundtrack, voice acting irritated me as well. Older, rugged and tough guys get a clean voice while younger, slim ones get a grumpy voice, it really put me off. Besides those two issues, I haven't found anything wrong with the game's sound.
So, THAW got an update for visuals, new tricks and a few new features and stayed true to the sound of previous games, so what's with the whole "absolute disrespect for PC gamers" ordeal?
My computer specs are way higher than the ones that are required to run THAW, and even when I lowered the graphical settings, the game would get choppy in certain areas, particularly in the areas that connect bigger ones. Here I am, starting a manual, when suddenly the game goes mad, and the next second I failed both the manual and the challenge/mission. Finally, there are times when the game freezes momentarily, and after checking out the forums I found out that for some it even crashes or restarts the PC. So unless you don't want your game having a mind of its own, I recommend getting the PS2 or Xbox version, PS2 one preferably; the PC version is a mess.
