Like Uncharted but a bit more repetitive

User Rating: 7 | Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition XONE

Audio:
Quality voice acting with a solid sound track behind it.

Visuals:
The game suffers from a few minor bugs but nothing major. The game looks great but environments lack variety.

Game Play:
Ever play Uncharted? It's a lot like that. No complaints though because it is a super fun and satisfying game to play.

Other:
Weak plot that isn't worth following. Lengthy but very repetitive campaign. Pointless collectibles. Has a rather large map yet aside from collectibles, There's nothing else to do but follow the main quest. It's difficult to gain experience in order to upgrade items. Multiplayer is fun but needs a bit more sharpening to be great. Most fights, especially the Boss battles, are over as quickly as they started. No replay value. The game fades heavily in the last 1/3 of the campaign. Enemies weirdly don't respawn if you cleared out the area.

Overall: 7/10
Without a doubt it's a very fun game to play and I would recommend it. However, All the small issues I have with the campaign add up and take away from the overall score. In the sequel, It'd be nice to see some side quests added to break up the repetitiveness of the campaign. Also having enemies respawn would make it easier to gain experience and add some fun when going after collectibles.
