This is what was supposed to be and should be the best in the series. But it's not.

I've previously reviewed the PS2 version of this game, which was pretty awful. Now that I've finished the PC version, there are too many things to say about this game. Some of them are not so good.

Graphics - Well, this is one of the strong points of the game. Everything looks colorful, lush. The environments are HUGE and full with detail. The character models are good, but Lara herself looks weird. If this was meant to follow Legend right away, then I'd say that Lara and Amanda got plastic surgeries which were unsuccessful.

Sound and music - The voice acting was okay. Not great, but not awful either. The music ir quite good, not as good as the previous games in the series. Some tracks were through-the-roof good, but some, such as the main theme were annoying. Sound effects were nice, but I highly doubt that spiders can make noises like that. Especially, the small ones.

Gameplay - This is were things go bad. Well, the formula itself hasn't changed from previous two games. But at least those games weren't so glitchy. The camera is just awful. There are too many unnoticable jumps, unnecessary cheap deaths (such as falling through the floor etc.) Gunplay is weak, but it was like that in previous games too. The good thing is, that Lara has got herself some new moves, but it's a shame that sometimes they are difficult to pull off because of some stupid glitches. At the end of the game I experienced a glitch, which caused some columns stick out of the walls, which made some jumps impossible. This glitch was almost crucial, because to get around it, tricking the game and relying on some gitches was required. That, my friend, Lara, is unforgivable. And yes, the controls are nice, but sometimes unresponsive.

Presentation - The collectables are stupid and too many. I don't really see the difference, If I collect 43 or 44 in the same level. The extras you can unlock are 'meh' - The previous games in the series had collectibles that at least were desirable. Menu is weird and too complex. Cutscenes, on the other hand, were good and cinematic, although, too short. If this and previos games are considered as one trilogy, when developers were cutting the story in three pieces, this game got the shortest stick of the three. But it concludes the story really well and allows to flip a new page for the series.

Replay value - Just don't replay it. You will get nothing else than the rewards you didn't collect in your first playthrough, and there extras for them, even hardcore fans of the series don't care for.
