Wow finally a Tomb Raider game worth playing! Great puzzles and action on the go in Tomb Raider Legends on the PSP.
The game is a one of the best Tomb Raider games to come along in a long time. It mixes all the exploration and puzzle solving of past games in the series with character control that at times remind me of Prince of Persia. Lara is so easy to control, her movement are much more fluid and she seems so nimble, for the most part. The game tends to have an unsteady frame-rate, but it's never to the point where the game is unplayable, in fact TRL is the most fun I had playing a Tomb Raider game in along time.
Tomb Raider Legends has some cool puzzles that really show off Lara's abilities, puzzles are just a matter of using the environment in a way that seems fit the level, none of that crazy push the lever in a room to open a door on the other side of the level stuff from the past. There are also driving stages and some gun fights mixed in too. They aren't the best ever seen (frame rate drops), but it is cool when you run up on a merc and give em a kick in the ribs, or go into bullet time and rain hot lead on them. Lara has her trade mark dual pistols, and can get other weapons like shotguns or machine guns from fallen enemies, she can even use the environment to her advantage.
The Story is solid and adds to the exploration, also the voice acting and sound add to the experience of the game, making the adventure fun and worthwhile. Lara will get helpful tips from her support crew, they'll also just chime in for a few laughs, it making them seem alive a real nice touch.
The extra multiplayer mode is also a nice touch even if you just play it single player, but you best be on top of your game one mistake really can hurt. The game has the graphic, story and gameplay to make is a worthwhile game on the PSP so give it a try you wont be disappointed, I know I'm glad I got it.
