Lara's back! or is she....

Ok so i know i was really excited for this game (me being a die hard Tomb Raider fan) all the gameplay footage looked like this would be the best Tomb Raider game ever which reminds me of AOD actually but unfortunately Legend turned out to be the worst Tomb Raider game i have ever played. This game is a joke to the Tomb Raider name. Now as a game you can easily pick up and play and have fun for a while yeah this game is great but thats it really. I find it pretty ironic Angel Of Darkness scored so low when it was still a good Tomb Raider game and fun but Legend is scored so high when its extremely easy and short and after a few playthroughs its pretty boring. I remember when i first played it i was so excited and the first playthrough i thought it was enjoyable until i got to the end. At the end of the game i just sat thinking "what the heck thats it?!" it made me pretty mad. Basicaly the levels are very very linear, the puzzles are very easy, enemies are easy to kill and platforming is you guessed it very easy. I used the Pistols the whole game because it was that easy to kill things. The old Tomb Raiders it was all about the enviroments and platforming and well thought puzzles but now we have some linear arcade game with the Tomb Raider name branded on the front and some new made up woman called Lara. Yes in this game Lara has been changed drasticaly. Her outfit was changed which i actually like to be honest but they took away her classic braid and gave her a pony tail which baffles me. The most annoying thing though is how emotional Lara is. Its like a whole new person. There are only two parts of the game she actually becomes the Lara Croft i know. Now i have to mention the most annoying thing in this whole game...Zip and Alister. These two guys talk to Lara via a headset in EVERY level. Yup thats constant chatter through every single dam level. You wont find any atmosphere here im afraid. The guys also like to tell you how to solve the puzzles and where to go which is very annoying. The story has Lara after various artifacts but then the other half of the story is Lara trying to find what happened to her mother and her getting emotional at every dam point of the game. Moving on we have the music. The music consists of some techno beats that play all the way through the game which coupled with Zip/Alister destroys any atmosphere whatsoever. I will say though the main theme is awesome so thats good. Moving on the camera is extremely annoying flying all over the place and zooming around when trying to make a jump. Swimming controls are very weird too needing one button to swim up and another button to swim down. Why they didnt just leave it like the classics i dont know the same for the camera too. The game has NO pickups at all apart from medipacks which is really annoying. Anyways i guese i should say what i actually enjoyed about the game. Well i did enjoy the game it was fun and i actually enjoyed the two motorbike shooting sections that break up some of the levels and the boss fights were well done too. Lara's mansion returns too (i think its one of her other Estates) and i actually think its better than the whole game no joke. We also get the Pistols back too and Secrets are back. Speaking of secrets they are really insulting to the player as nearly every one is in plain sight apart from the Gold ones. Anyways after you collect secrets you unlock various goodies like Outfits and Artwork. There are lots of outfits actually most of which are pointless. I actually find the unlockable content stupid as its making you replay the game just to unlock more things. In the old games you replayed them because they were that good not because you wanted to unlock some cool content. Anyways overall id say buy this game if you want a short, fun game. Most people will find it fun though id say. If your a Tomb Raider fan id rent it as you probably will be disgusted after playing it once.
