Splinter Cell Essentials for the PSP is a good game in its own right, but if you are not a splinter cell fan or have played the others and not liked them, this is just the same. But if you like splinter cell, the controls are well done for the psp and the gamesply is similar. If you love splinter cell this is a must own because it is so much like the action stealth game you loved before now on a small screen. If you have not played a splinter cell game before, than the learning curve could be anywhere from 45 minutes to almost 2 hours if you can't stealth right. But for splinter cell veterans or the natural stealth-masters, 10-15 minutes to learn controls and you're off. I have heard that this is like a compilation of previous splinter cell missions, but so far I haven't played any maps I recognize, but then again I haven't played all of the other games all the way through and haven't made it terribly far in this one. I personally was thinking of buying it used if I could find it for cheap, and I still probably will, but only when its about $10. I rented it and appreciated its similarity to the console versions, which made it easier for me to pick up and play. FINAL WORD: If you love Splinter Cell, buy it. If you like Splinter Cell, rent it. If you've never played Splinter Cell, give it a try and rent it anyways. If you have a choice between buying this game or any game that ::*GameSpot*:: gave a 7 or higher,
