A good spy story starring a hi-tech US ninja which combines stealth with action, drama and sense of loyalty: amazing!

When I received this game for Christmas I felt amazed because I've recently started to enjoy stealth-based videogames.

When I started playing this game, though, I immediately got stuck in the first level without knowing what to do! But don't worry, after a while, I managed to get some results and exploit all the possible options available for sneaking around the various missions.

After such introduction, let's check the various aspects; first, the plot: though I have never read any novel from Tom Clancy, I've got to say that the story should be worth of a novel, due to some aspects like choosing your side wisely, broken friendship, lack of loyalty, espionage and also IT terrorism which are seen quite in depth. Plus, we find once again Sam Fisher triyng to save the world while remaining hidden in the shadows!! I mean, saving the world once more without any medal or reward... aww, that's frustrating!

Second, we have the various gadgets available during your missions, from the sticky cameras to the OCP, the EEV or Sam Fisher's trademark goggles with 3 different visions available (night, thermal and EMP): after all, a spy without his hi-tech gadgets and equipment is like a moonless sky!

The third positive aspect has to do with the various strategies which can be adopted for completing the various objectives given during a mission: of course, stealth remains the main course of action, but you can also find various ways to complete the same objective. Same goes when it comes to take out enemies who get in your way: you can head straight into the fight (if so, take cover first!), lure them into a dark area one by one (especially by whistling, but when you're done remember to hide their bodies in order not to trigger any alarm) or sneak past them silently by using the shadows or the environment surrounding you to your advantage!

Finally we come to the main negative aspects: first we have the controls, which can be a real pain in the back if you are not familiar with them (my controller tends to feel dizzy from time to time, causing Sam to walk around "by himself"). Second, the graphics lack some details (especially the weapons, they look like mere toys instead of real guns!). Finally, the tutorial section needed something including a bit of practice instead of a mere bunch of patronising videos, showing the controls without giving you the time to make some practice!

In the end, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory remains a good title worth playing for those who are patient enough to master the controls and enjoy the amazing storyline (both single and co-op!)
