Awesome. I found this game in a Detroit EB games during our trip down there, and fell in love. A sleeper hit i would rank up with NFSU2 and GT3. If only more people would realize about this game, it would be a global hit. What you basically do is drive around one of the three citys and take some dude who's just cruis'n, waiting for you to pounce. Once you have the game going, a fighting-game style life bar shows up. You lose health, or SP, by falling behind or hitting stuff. There's plenty to do in the garage as well. There's plenty of ways to customize your car, and you can also join a team by setting the team's sticker to your emblem. You can also edit stickers. I took the three boss badges and put a linne through each of them, and put it on the door of my car. It looks so friggin cool.

On to the flaws now. Prone to freezing. That really pisses me off. No online, which sucks. The highways are too long and straight to really make the gameplay really intense. If it was on the city streets or something that would be boss. Not enough muscle cars. Not that I really drive them, but it would be a nice touch. Lack of, well, any voice acting whatsoever. If a guy would, like, call you on a cell phone before the race starts that would be rad. Bad soundtrack. God, the music is terrible in this game.

Back to praising the game. I liked the engine sounds, as well. the tire squeal is a bit repetitive, but decent. The engine change is a cool feaure too. My 240z was a slow bastard, and then I swapped its engine, and then it was fast, if it did overheat a little fast. I liked the cars in the game, too. Right back to the 70's. High quality workmanship right there! Sportscars to height wagons, this game has everything, pretty much. It does racing justice and leaves very little to be desired. Out.
