A fun, yet short, TMNT game where you get to use a whole whack of different weapons to lay down a whole lot of hurtin!

TMNT for GameBoy Advance is a very well done game in my opinion. The only complaint I had about it is the standard complaint I normally have for most GameBoy games, and that is the fact that it is too short. I guess they can only pack so much game in to those little cartridges! This game follows the plot of the 2007 TMNT movie. For most levels you get to pick which turtle you use and a second turtle that acts as his backup. For the odd couple of levels the game forces you to use Raphael though, due to his Nightwatcher character's solo missions. There are 7 levels in the game with some sort of boss at the end of each one. The graphics I thought were very well done and the gameplay was just as good. My favourite part of the game is how interactive the environment is. Most things can be destroyed, just for fun, and some of them even leave you little treats in the form of weapons you can use on your opponents. There are lots of foreign objects in this game including bats, steel rods, tires, crates, throwing stars, swords, war hammers, mail boxes, garbage cans, dynamite, and even rocks! As you work through each act you acquire experience points, which helps make each turtle stronger. You get these experience points by performing combos on your enemies, using the different objects you find scattered throughout each level, and picking up the money that is dropped when you defeat certain enemies. The money you get can be used to buy different things in the game, like upgraded defensive and offensive capabilities, among many countless other items. Between each level you go back to the lair. From here you can go topside where you can visit 3 different stores in order to purchase various items. You can go to the alleyway and practice your fighting skills on some random hooligans. Or you can go up to the rooftop where April, Casey & Splinter all have some mini-games to offer. Down in the lair you can practice on the punching bag or you can view your trophy room. Throughout the game you will earn different objects with your actions (earning so much money, skill points, using so many objects, etc.). This trophy room is where you view said earned objects. Overall this game I felt was really well done, I just felt that it was too short. The only other thing I found I didn't like was that the environments weren't as varied as the movie. Most of the game takes place on the streets of New York. There is no level at all for Leonardo down in South America, and there isn't that much that happens on the roof tops of New York. But, there is some action in the subway tunnels and in Winters' Tower. Despite this I still feel this game is a must have, especially for fans of TMNT!
