After BattleNexus, people have given up on TMNT games for this generation. I say, they may still have a cahnce, with this solid entry into the TMNT game line-up. The game features almost two dozen characters, some of which are the same character as others but with different costumes (ex. Casey Jones, April, and more), which is a bummer, but with many characters to choose from overall and that makes a pretty solid line-up. Also, there are many stages to play on, all cel-shaded well, and feature multiple styles of gameplay, like normal Melee, where you try to get the most KOs in the time limit, Knockout, where there are a limited amount of lives for each character and the last one standing wins, and a game like keep away, where a player picks up a treasure chest and runs away with it while others try to catch him. The person who holds the chest the longest or to the set time limit will win. These are all customizable in the amount of lives, minutes, and the like can be set. Also, a story mode is included, but it basically consists of word boxes between muchly varied match types, surprisingly enough, telling a little piece of the character's stroy. It's the only way you can unlock everything, so it will get a bit repetitive with the games simple, yet fun, battle system. Basically, it consists of alternatin between the A and B buttons. AAA is the basic combo, while combos like ABA and AAB will do more damage. There are only four combos in all, which isn't very deep, but when you throw in pick-ups like weapons and crates and power-ups like super stremgth and agility, it does get fun, especially sine the game is four-player compatible and can get pretty hectic. Also, there is an unlockables store where you can unlock artwork, comic book covers, character bios, and even the very first Ninja Turtle comic book in its entirety, which is pretty sweet in my opinion, and shows that this game really does care about the fans. Overall, this is a fun, hard-to-find brawler that will please mostly fanes of the TMNT series. Everyone else who is a brawler fan may be a bit disappointed, though.
