I am not crazy about multiplayer games in general. In fact I have a general rule not to buy multiplayer only games, mainly because of lag and cheaters. But I made an exception with both Titanfall titles.
This is, IMO, the best multiplayer game out there this year. The movement and the guns are all really good, and when it works it is really fun. I would have given this a higher score if they had pilot bots for private matches. As I get tired of the lag in multiplayer sometimes, as the matches can get way out of balance, and you can pour bullets into a player only for him to turn around and 2 shot you. I once ran around a corner and took several step and was then dropped. The kill cam never showed me rounding the corner. This does not happen all the time, but it is noticeable. Sometimes I am on the positive side of the lag, and drop pilots easily. I can go from 11 pilots kills to 0 in different matches, and it is not that I play any different.
That sound is good, but not consistent. For instance, a titan could be lumbering up behind me, or running, and I would never know it, as I never hear him. Also, it often seems I am one shotted, only to see in the kill cam I was hit many times, but I never detected getting hit till I was dropped. This also may be a lag issue.
I got this a few weeks after its initial release, and the player base is kind of sparse. I would like to play Pilot vs Pilot, but there are never people playing that. Attrition has players, about 150 early morning, to about 700 to 1,000 in the evening in my region. I mean, that is OK, but this game is still kind of new. That is another reason I would like pilot bots for private matches.
In conclusion, it is a fun game, and the best multiplayer on the market (again in my opinion), but still plagued by multiplayer issues.
If the devs from Titanfall are reading this, PLEASE add a pilot bots option for private MP matches.
