A fun version of an arcade classic...
What I liked best was the option to play with either the classic graphics or the updated version. The update is understated--it looks a lot better, but it doesn't change the gameplay at all, which I feared it might. The classic graphics and music brought back the memories. I think the game looks and sounds great either way.
The gameplay is simple, like the original. Spin and shoot. The added difficulty settings make the game a lot more challenging (although I have to admit that my extensive play when I was younger didn't make me good at this game). The controls work well with the 360 controller, although it seemed to lag once in a while for me at odd times, but that might have been from a controller battery running low.
The achievement points are a bit on the easy side, to be sure, but that's really no big deal.
The best thing, though, is the price. For five bucks? Heck, it's a steal. That's 20 plays in quarters. You'll be playing this game a lot longer than that. Really, it's a great value for the nostalgia and just plain fun.
