Arcade at it´s finest

User Rating: 9.3 | Time Crisis PS
Some arcade games are classic, others aren´t. Time Crisis is one of those you can call a classic, and if you can´t afford to play it at the arcade, now´s your chance to play it!

In Time Crisis, Rachel Macpherson (the daughter of Sercia Federation´s president) has been kipnapped by Sherudo Gard and his men. Your are Richard Miller and as him, your mission is to elminate the terrorists and rescue Rachel.

The gameplay isin´t the typcial thrid-person shooter stuff as most games have. It´s first person and there´s only 2 things you can do. duck and shoot. The game depends on how fast you are with your trigger finger, and how quickly you are to duck behind some cover, but your don´t have a hell lot of time to kill your emenys, because each time you stop to shoot people, you have limited time to kill them, which makes you forced to shoot fast. It works really well. However the gameplay does have some problems.. When going from one place to another, the timer still goes on, which makes it a possibility that you´ll get to the game over screen because of your switching places. The Continue system is punishing as well. If you lose all of your lifes, you´ll have to start the level over.

The main game lasts about 30 mins or longer. However the PS1 version has a special mode. In this mode Richard Miller is after Wild Dog and Kantaris who owns a hotel, which is actically a cover up for her weapons and explosives factory. This scenario has a BRC (Branch Reflected Conditions) system. This means that the special mode have alternate routes and alternate endings, which gives the game more replay valve.

The graphics are smooth and frame rates dosen´t bog down one big! However it dosen´t run as fast as System 22 arcade . But that´s the only driffences .

The music is quite good, voice acting is good, but not THAT good.

Time Crisis on the PS1 comes with a GunCon pistol which can be used in the game, giving the real arcade feeling. However the GunCon can only be used in Namco games which support this feature (that and Midway's Maximum Force)

Time Crsis on PS1 is one of the best arcade ports! with no driffence other than it´s speed, this game is almost perfect! You must get this game at once!
