This was one of the first games that got me hooked on the Game Boy original system.

Apart from being one of the few games with "memory" on the cartridge, where you could "save" your progress, and besides looking old fashioned by today's standards, Sword of Hope was an amazingly deep game. You could play for hours, improving your character and getting new weapons and progressing through your quest.

It looks and feels like a very old version of Final Fantasy or any japanese-style role-playing game. The graphics are really simple, but not so much could be achieved on the Game Boy anyway... Don't let its apparent simplicity fool you, this was one of Gameboy's great games, and it deserves it's place in history. It doesn't offer much of replayability, but it's retro-role playing at its best.
