Sims 2 has some nice improvement from the first Sims but, the game has more glitches.
(-) Only a few colors for each type of clothing, easier to start fires in this game than it was in the first game, sluggish loading times at times, the family three thing seemed unnecessary.
Sims 2 like the first game is were you play god and take care of these computerized people called Sims. You have to keep bladder, hunger, comfort, room (easiest to keep up), hygiene, and social level (hardest one to raise in the game) if you want to progress through the game easily. This game did offer a lot of different options for clothing but, it would of made this game better if you could just change any piece of clothing to any color you want instead of just choosing one of the colors the game gives you.
When you create a Sim you will have to choose male or female gender for your Sim then have the game pick you a weird looking Sim with some weird ancestors which you can change everything with your character after you choose a random one. When you have a whole family of Sims in free play mode you can either build a house or choose a default one. I wonder why you can't have a roof on your house on this game it totally makes sense that when it rains none of it gets inside the house even though it does not even have a roof at all.
One thing I noticed about this game is that you are more likely to start fires while cooking on this game that is awesome (insert sarcasm) because when you become a ghost you have to either beat the grim reaper at rock paper scissors or pay him 100 bucks (weird right) I know. When you are a ghost you can scare neighbors and other member of your family and it adds social level with people some how.
There are some funny glitches in this game like sometimes when your Sims come back from work the car will change for a second then change back. The loading times in this game can get a bit annoying but, it doesn't ruin the additive game play. I think it would of been a good idea if they had a few more voices with the male and female Sims it can sometimes get annoying when your Sims sound the same.
There are two methods of control on this game the classic pointer control like the one off The Sims and analog control with the second one you can control all your Sims movements and actions.
The Sims 2 is a great game that overcomes it glitches and long loading times so I would recommend it to Sims fans that want this game on their Ps2 but, not casual gamers because they would most likely get confused with this game and quit because it is a lot more complex than the first and it takes a bit more time to get used to.
