Put Simply, Simpsons + Crazy Taxi

User Rating: 5 | The Simpsons: Road Rage PS2
This game could easily have gone a half a dozen routes, the potential was there, but in the end, the game producers slapped together a game based on a franchise that probably shouldn't have made it out of the testing. The story isn't really existent, the point of the game to have enough fares to unlock more sections of the map. It's truly simplistic.

The draw is, of course, the Simpsons characters. And while the voices are spot on, the dialogue amusing, though repetitive. The game play is the same as crazy taxi. The environments look like those from Springfield, but on closer examination, they fall short. I realise the show is animated, so the environments are that way as well, but in fact, the company could have refined the textures more, and perhaps had the game not allow cars to drive partially through buildings. These sorts of glitches are what will madden any gamer and even the most die-hard Simpsons fan will be frustrated at this poor quality game.

Although frustrating at times for its many pratfalls, this game is, by and large, just as entertaining as Crazy Taxi. If, for some reason, you've never played that game, this isn't a bad one to play, but overall, a perfectly fine one to miss.
