Simple, yet satisfying, The Simpsons game will only be remembered by fans of the show, myself being one of them.
This game was split up into levels that increased in difficulty, but the game wasn't at all that difficult. Missions were repetitive and boring, but I didn't really notice, because I was too busy laughing at the humor. Killing enemies feels quite good, especially when they get fall with an annoyed "oomph". There are "trophies" that can be obtained, such as completing a level in a set time or finishing one without a character death. These "trophies" don't come with any perks or special items, so all they provide is a sense of accomplishment. Nothing much else to say.
The controls were fairly easy to use and provided for easy fighting, and easy actions. (i.e. climbing ladders or pushing buttons) The major flaw of this game was the camera. It always was not correctly placed, so for example, when jumping from ledge to ledge, one couldn't get good depth perception, or when in a confined area, the camera was too close. Overall, the controls were quite easy to use, and provided simple gameplay.
The graphics in this game were comparable to those of the show itself, and didn't have a really 3d look, which I thought was cool. It made the game actually look like an actual episode, instead of a video game.
The one great thing about The Simpsons Game is the humor. Cutscenes in before and after levels were long, and were actually drawn out and produced by Mr. Groening. They were funny, entertaining, and provided a sense of accomplishment. In-level humor involved parodies of other video games, and ironic and laughable missions.
Overall, I definitely recommend The Simpsons game to all Simpsons fans. It is an above average game and will be kept in my collection to be played whenever I need a laugh. The game isn't very stressful, so I would also recommend playing this game when you want to relax.
