The Settlers series seems to have lost what made it special.

One of the things I enjoyed most about The Settlers back in the day was the fact you start off in a raw, unexplored land and build as you see fit. In The Settlers 7, you start off able to view the entire map which is just divided into areas that already have castles and just enough room to build practically predetermined infrastructure. You don't really settle the map, you just take over areas and improve them. The Settlers 7 in just like any other conquest game now, the only good think left is the complex economy. I do however like the special quests areas, buildings you add sections to and their food options. I hope to see following games in the settlers series blended with some of these good new ideas and to perhaps go back to its roots with open lands and prospecting like The Settlers 4
