If you like guns, explosion, a good story and World War 2 then it's most likely that you would want this game.

I saw the Saboteur game at an e3 coverage and I was excited. In my opinion, I thought this game was sure to be great and I am happy to say that it is.

It all depends on if you like masses of explosions and guns because that's the heart and core of this game: it fills you're character with an arsenal of guns, grenades and a handful of dynamite and I must say, I really enjoyed the dynamite.

I really want to get the first thing clear on this: It is in a world war 2 setting and that setting delivers. You are a Irish Mechanic and by unfortunate circumstances, you hide in Paris because you are a wanted man by the Nazi's. The story is good and it delivers a good twist or two but it's nothing special, still, the setting provided for the story makes up with everything the game offers.

World War 2 has always interested me and when I saw this game in all it's glory on my pc, I felt that this would be a great experience for me, just because of the World War 2 setting and with a kind of Noir theme to it, I was quite happy with it.

The Noir theme is interesting to anyone who likes it. The Nazis have occupied Paris and all of Paris and the surrounding country side, is covered grey and that adds to the atmosphere. When you blast your way through Nazi occupation in Paris, you slowly drive the grey darkness out of the city and I must say, it's a huge contrast to the grey color you had just experienced.

On to more Important Matters: Gameplay. The gameplay itself is quite straightforward of a sandbox: you drive, shoot and explode your way through Nazi occupied Paris and it feels exhilarating. it's something out of a GTA game but then in a 1940's scenario which I think is great. You're main Character, Sean, is a down on his luck Irish Mechanic who just escaped the wrath of a Nazi torturer and high ranking officer but escaped with a price paid: His best friend was shot and now he seeks revenge. This provides the overall sandbox feel as Sean can upgrade his arsenal by going to black market dealers and buy new weapons and upgrades. The game also has a Perk system but to be honest, it wasn't so helpful (except for a handful of useful upgrades which I hugely enjoyed).

Other then that I really can't say much more because that's just it but let me go on to say that there are a ton of side quests to it and some of those side quests feel fresh and diverse but other then that, it is the same, which gives the game a repetitive feel to it.

The visuals of this game look smooth and sharp but sometimes rough around a few edges but nothing serious to say that this is a un-pretty game, with the Noir theme providing an excellent backdrop on atmosphere and really getting that feel that Paris was in her darkest days when the Nazis occupied Paris.

If you like world war 2 and a sandbox game, pick it up and it will keep you entertained for awhile.
