The Order: 1886 is a polished cover shooter, an emotional alternate history adventure, and a technical masterpiece. Often compared to the Gears of War franchise, the game does indeed play like a typical cover shooter. The game may be short at around eight to ten hours, but the journey throughout London is well worth the time. As Ser Galahad, you take on Lycans and Rebels in an enthralling story to uncover a secret kept hidden by the knights of the order. Though the game is enjoyable, combat feels repetitive at later stages. And odd traversal elements feel misplaced at times. But if you spend the time to truly immerse yourself in the tale, this PS4 exclusive will offer you a solid gaming experience at a price point (now less than $20) well worth the coin.
