Probably one of the best things you could spend $50 on or whatever.

Some people might glance at this and think to themselves, "Oh, just another bunch of FPS's." They couldn't be more wrong. If you're like me and you're sick to death of flashy FPS's and such then this will be the collection to restore your faith in the genre. I'm not going to waste mine or your time by blabbering on, so I'll say a few quick words and that'll be that. Half Life 2: one of the best games I have ever played, not only a perfectly polished shooter with tons of action and pretty eye candy, it also features an immersive and original story with unique characters and plenty of twists along the way. If you haven't played the first Half Life, don't worry, a little bit of research will quickly get you up to speed. Possibly the most exciting thing however, is that the Half Life saga is far from over. Now, onto Portal: What started out as an experiment quickly evolved into a phenomenon. When Portal came out, everyone was talking about it, and very soon Portal 2 will be released. Portal is a fairly challenging mix of first person action and a puzzle, it's short, sweet and crap loads of fun. It's one of the most original games I've seen, pretty much ever. Finally, Team Fortress 2: What can I say, me and pretty much all of my friends have spent hundreds of hours on this game. It's challenging enough to keep you hooked, but it's fun and laid back unlike COD and the like. It's what you'd expect from the title, it's a class based online shooter. It's updated very frequently, and so far there are tons of maps, game modes and items to be experienced. All the Valve made maps are brilliant and some of the custom maps are just great ideas and tons of fun. All of the classes are unique and hilarious, and perfectly balanced. Unless you're one of those idiots who only plays games with uber-realistic graphics and gore, there's no reason why any gamer shouldn't play this game. All in all, this box set is excellent value, and it features some of the most highly rated games out, and for good reason. I'd like to thank Valve for releasing such excellent games, along with the likes of Blizzard and Bethesda, I'm sure Valve will continue to bless us with amazing quality games for many years to come.
