Actually a good Jump’n Run that unfortunately lacks in length and replay value.

While playing ball in a park Pluto falls down a cliff and it is up to Mickey to find him. His quest takes you in a magical world, where you have to find an evil emperor who captured poor Pluto.

While most of the aspects in this game are very usual for Jump’n Runs of that era, one thing makes it even more fun to play: Throughout the courses of the game you’ll find different costumes that Mickey can wear. Each of those costumes will grant him special powers. The wizard’s costume will give you the ability to fire away bursts of magical energy and you can breathe underwater; the fire-fighter’s costume let’s you shoot a stream of water that can move certain things (like blocks); and finally you’ll get the mountaineer’s costume which enables Mickey to climb walls.
Of course there are more things to find beside these costumes, like finding coins to buy power ups and items, but they all feel pretty standard in this genre.

The graphics here a well designed and just look pretty. All animations and especially the backgrounds look quiet beautiful.

There’s nothing special about the music or the sound effects in this game. They fit the game and help to build the atmosphere, but it’s just nothing that you will remember after some time.

Now, the big flaw of this game is its length: The average player needs 2-3 hours to beat it, and then comes the next disappointment: There’s just no need to play this game twice. Except for some different levels of difficulty there’s nothing special to achieve after you beat the game once.
It’s also a very easy game (although there are some tough parts in one level featuring mountain-climbing) that lacks challenge.

“Magical Quest” is very fun to play and just has this beautiful Disney style to it.
If you ever get to play it, enjoy it while it lasts - it won’t be too long.
