Best adventure game of all times? Yes

User Rating: 10 | The Longest Journey PC
I've been playing pc games for years and always had a soft spot for classic adventure games. There are certainly quite a few great older games in the genre- gabriel knight, monkey island, space quest. This one is a relatively newer game, which came out at a time when adventure offerings were sparse. The result was pretty amazing. The plot is phenomenal - heartfelt, unpredictable, often funny, often sad, and very long, making the writers feat of holding the story together even more impressive. The graphics were gorgeous when the game came out and are still nice to look at (not sure what that's worth coming from someone who still enjoys the graphics in Kyrandia). The sound is great, almost all the dialogue is voiced and done so very well. The quests are all quite logical and fun to figure out. Mostly on the easy side, with a few harder ones. Good mix overall. There's quite a bit of reading in the game, but most of the stuff is interesting, though not necessary to solve the game.

Perhaps this review doesn't quite prove my point- that this is the best adventure game of all times. It's hard to explain in a review- the game just draws you in, not letting go and then stays with you after you finished, a real testament on how well it makes the player care about the characters in the game.
I imagine most people who like adventure games played it by now, but if for some reason you haven't, go play.

P.S. the sequel sucks
