Awesome game that reminds me of my childhood.

Gameplay: The gameplay in The Lion King is based on the movie of the same name. You play as Simba, and have to play through different levels which are all based on scenes in the movie. The levels were all different and somewhat creative, but they're too short. However, there are many levels, so you won't finish the game too fast (mainly because of the difficulty).
You start with young Simba, and can later become an adult lion. Young Simba can only jump and roar, which doesn't do much to enemies, so you'll have to jump on them. It isn't very accurate, but at least it works. Adult Simba however, can attack, but unfortunately, there are few levels where you get to play as him.
In between levels, you'll sometimes find a bonus stage which I never understood but it's still nice to get.

Presentation: The graphics are really nice looking for the time. The soundtrack is amazing, featuring songs from the movie, which are obviously watered down because of limitations, but still sound well.

Story: The story as you know is the one from the movie, however, the game doesn't tell it, so most of the time you'll have to figure out what's going on. Because of this, I recommend you watch the movie before playing the game. The only part that tells a storyline (somewhat) is the ending, but I won't spoil it.

Replay Value: After beating the game in the hardest difficulty, I don't think there's much to do. However, beating the game CAN take a while, since it kind of hard due to not having many lives.

Fun: I had some good fun with this game. It does a good job of making you enter the atmosphere of the movie, even though it is somewhat limited. The gameplay is takes some getting used to, especially the attacking, but you can skip attacking sections (excepting of course, bosses) so it isn't really a problem. This also reminded me a little of my childhood, which is great, and with the 3D rerelease of the movie, this game fits really well. In fact, I just want to re-watch the movie right now.

Overall: If possible, get the game. It has a great atmosphere and it's not too hard like old games used to be.
