Ah yes, the Legend of Zelda; one of the best games to come out for the system that put video games on the map as a viable source of home entertainment. For those who don't know the story, you play the role of Link a young boy charged with finding the pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom and saving the Princess Zelda from the clutches of the evil wizard, Ganon. Unfortunately, that's all the story there was in this game. When compared to the storylines of some of today's games, this game falls short. To supplement the lack of story, this game packs in a ton of action and replay value. You move from screen to screen using your sword to defeat the various enemies and make your way through the many puzzles that stand between you and Ganon. When you complete the game, you're rewarded with the second quest, a much harder version of the original. Just about every detail has been recreated for this version of the game giving it a truly old school feeling. I purchased it and am glad that I did so, if for no other reason than to pay homage to my roots.
