Zelda: TP doesn't bring anything incredibly new to the table, but its still a fantastic Zelda game.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Twilight Princess is the Zelda game people were expecting when The Wind Waker was released. TP follows a more traditional Zelda format then TWW. It is by far the darkest Zelda game to date and offers countless hours of entertaining and high quality gameplay. If you have been waiting for a true Zelda sequel to Ocarina of Time, this is it. Not to say TWW was a bad game, in fact it was a fantastic game, but it didn't follow the true Zelda format that has made Zelda so popular over the years. TP follows that format to perfection and is able to add a few new twists and turns along the way.

Sound/Music: A-

The music is a little different then what you are used to. The main Hyrule theme is catchy and you will be singing it as you play. Other parts of the soundtrack range from slow, dark music to light and cheery music. Overall the music is very enjoyable and it never gets old. The Hyrule field music may get a little tiring towards the end, but that's about it.

Graphics: A+

This game looks phenomenal. It definitely pushed the Gamecube graphics to the limit. The level of detail in the water, the sky, the grass, and even on Link is all there.

Gameplay: A

This is where games are judged. The gameplay in Zelda is terrific to say the least. Controls are perfect and combat flows very well. The dungeons are very well designed and it will take a lot of thought and planning to navigate your way through them.

Overall: A

Negatives about TP:

You don't have that sense of exploration that you had in OOT. Hyrule Field is not one giant field anymore, it is now split off in different sections which kind of takes away from that free-roaming type style that made Zelda so great.

The later dungeons are short and easy. Normally you would think the opposite would be the case, but the last 3 or 4 dungeons just seems like it was thrown together in haste to appease the Zelda folks who complained about TWW being too short.

Sometimes you get the feeling that Nintendo made this game just to please fans who wanted another Ocarina of Time. Don't get me wrong it's a wonderful game to play, but it just seems Nintendo didn't bring anything incredibly new to the table with this one. Some music is the exact same from Ocarina and other past Zelda games.
-----------

By far the darkest of the Zelda games, Twilight Princess will keep you entertained for hours. It's a great game for a newbie to the Zelda series to get started with and it's a blast for die hard Zelda fans to play. If you can get over the fact that the later dungeons are not as well designed as the earlier ones, Twilight Princess will be worth every penny.
