Hello to all reading this review. I hope
this will help you decide wether or not
to buy this wonderful piece of video
game artwork.

--------------------Overview------------------

First things first, this is a completely
fantastic game with many (40) hours of
challenging gameplay. The beautiful
worlds, memorable characters, and
fantastic story line makes this, in my
opinion, the best game that is on
the Wii to date and a must own for both
Zelda fans and Wii owners alike.

--------------------Presentation------------------

The story line of Skyward Sword is simple.
Zelda gets captured and Link tries to save
her. Yet, this story, simple as it may be,
draws you in and never lets you go.
The characters feel so life-like that you
start to believe these are more like real
people than 3d models. Although a long
cinematic starts the game, it is necessary
to really get attached to the people that
live in Skyloft.
Over all, the presentation of Skyward
Sword draws you closer than any of the
past Zelda titles, even Ocarina of Time.

--------------------Graphics------------------

Although not in HD, the graphics of
Skyward Sword add so much to the
story and feel of the game.
Traveling through Faron Woods,
flying through the air, and all the
rest you do are complemented by
the incredible graphics of this game.
Though the art style might not appeal
to lovers of Twilight Princess, that
should not stop you from playing
this visual masterpiece. The graphics
also add a realistic feel to the
characters, that will keep them in your
heart forever.

--------------------Controls------------------

Even though Gamespot says it's
awful, they were doing it all wrong!
You are NOT supposed to flail your
arm around! You are supposed to
treat the Wiimote like a real sword.
I don't see knights flailing their arms.
Clean, strong slashes is what makes
the controls work.

Now for the review on controls. The
controls are incredible and work
wonderfully about 80% of the time.
If you ever reach that 20% then
it is easily fixed.
In combat all you do, according to
the tutorial, is swing both the
Wiimote and Nunchuk straight
down.
In pointing requirements, like
shooting arrows or looking
around, just point were you
think is straight and press
down.
After you get play the game for a while
both feel natural, and take around
1 second to do.

--------------------Sound------------------

This is the first ever Zelda game to
have a non-midi soundtrack, and I
think Nintendo did a wonderful job.
The music adds so much to the story
and feel of the game. They even
remade some of the original songs in
the Zelda series, such as the Shop
Theme. Many of the sound effects
in the game have been remade as
well, but some are brought over from
Twilight Princess.

9.5/10

--------------------Gameplay------------------

The gameplay is around the same as
earlier Zelda games, but with many
great differences, such as running.
You'll never know how much it is needed
until you play this game. The RPG-like
upgrade system is a wonderful addition,
as well. The life system for shields is
also very nice, forcing you to be more
strategic. Drinking potions while walking
is another wonderful addition.

--------------------Lasting Appeal------------------

The game not only includes a very long
40 hour story mode, but also has many
areas to explore, and side quests to do.
You even have the incentive to
return to area in order to find the extra
"goodies".

9.5/10

--------------------Overall------------------

Overall, this is a wonderful game
that is worth the $50 Nintendo is
asking. Any Wii owner should
have this game in their library,
whether or not they are a Zelda
fan.
