One of my favorite DS games.

The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass is a charming, very enjoyable Zelda game.I like using the game's stylus controls because they feel less clunky than using a D-Pad and buttons and using the stylus to direct Link around environments is much easier and quicker than using a D-Pad.Using the stylus for combat is fun because you draw the types of attacks you want to do and it's a nice change from having to press/hold buttons to perform attacks. You can make Link perform a basic attack by tapping on enemies but some enemies move very fast or are powerful so you'll need to use other attacks such as drawing lines to perform powerful slashes or drawing a circle to make Link perform his famous circular sword attack.

I like how you can use the stylus to draw the paths you want your boomerang to travel and you'll need to use this feature for the puzzles that have delicate timing or mathematical order and environmental elements. The dungeons have the typical layout style of previous Zelda games(you'll be searching through many rooms for keys and switches)but are more creative in how you solve their puzzles.

The game also allows you to write notes or draw paths on maps. The game makes use of the DS's speaker by requiring you to blow out candles for puzzles or talking through it to get the attention of people and it's a nice gimmick because it makes me feel like I am really interacting with the environment/people.

The gameplay also requires you to sail the ocean(Phantom Hourglass's story is set not too long after Wind Waker, where much of the world has been flooded)and the sailing in PH is easier than in WW because PH allows you to draw the path you want your boat to take and it will automatically go there. As you'd expect, when you're sailing around you will be attacked by sea creatures and pirates and you can shoot at them with cannon balls.

PH's world has a nice tropical feel with palm trees and beaches and I like how the seawater has wave effects and the towns are colorful and the cutscenes look great for the story scenes.

I don't know what else to say about this game except it's an enjoyable and charming Zelda game.
