A Beautiful Re-Make That Enhances Everything Good About the Original, and More!

User Rating: 10 | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening NS

It's taken a lot longer than it should have, but at long last; one of the most compelling video games for the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color, has been re-visualized from the ground up, and finally maximizes its capacity to be the definitive masterpiece it has always been. The characters and locations in this re-make, have gone from being mildly detailed, to having an extraordinary level of detail and love crafted into them, really making Koholent Island a place that you might never want to leave. Of course, the added details and improved character expressions, will make it all the more heartbreaking to discover the harsh truth about what the island truly is (no spoilers for anyone who hasn't played it already). Still, this is definitely one of Link's more compelling adventures. In addition to all the original secrets to discover, there are now brand new pieces of heart to collect, more secret sea shells to find than in the original, figurines to collect and place, and the biggest new addition to the game is Dampe's Shack, where you can craft and build your own custom dungeons out of any dungeon that you have completed, using any chamber stones that you find throughout the game, to make a dungeon of practically any length and difficulty that you want. The graphics, sound, music, controls, and challenge are all great, as per usual for a Nintendo video game, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to experience this unique video game experience for the first, second, third, or whatever number time that you've played this game, again! Enough said, true believers!
