Just to be clear, I'm referring to the original Link's awakening game, not the DX version. This review is highly subjective as I was just an 8 year old boy when I got this game so I practically grew up playing this game. Took me about a year to complete but it was in German so I had to use dictionaries to figure out what was I supposed to do. I had a lot of game boy games but this one had the best graphics, sound and animation fluidity of all of them, plus, to an 8 year old socially awkward boy this game was the holy grail as it allowed me to escape to a completely new world. I got so immersed into this game that it made me laugh and cry many times and the ending was one of the best of all the games I have ever played, certainly the best Zelda game ending ever. The only other game that made me feel this way was the Ocarina of time.
