starts off slow, but pulls you in and never lets go! amazing game

User Rating: 9 | The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Special Edition) NS

Zelda: Breath of the Wild gets off to a slow start, and it seems like a walking simulator for the first hour or so. But it gets much, much better the more you play it. The game offers tremendous depth of exploration. You will encounter enemies that have surprisingly good AI. There's lots of items to be found, and you can experiment with them to learn new recipes. The music is a bit bare, which is change from playing older Zelda games like Link to the Past. However, that's part of the beauty of this game - the special moments of the game are when the music sneaks up on you, really immersing you into the scenes. The audio ambience gives the game a real nature feel to it, as if you're truly on your own - building suspense for what lies ahead. Some may hate how the weapons break; I love it - it keeps you on your toes and encourages you not to use the same thing over and over again. Nintendo has created a masterpiece that doesn't rely on extremely detailed high-res textures or massive amounts of processing power - it embraces your desire for adventure and focuses on providing the amazing atmosphere for it.

I would give it a 10/10, but the lack of voice acting is a bit shameful. But it doesn't detract much from the overall experience.
