ALTTP is the third Zelda game out and the old saying "Third time's the charm" is in full effect here.
The graphics look perfect without any flaws and the story, albeit smaller compared to a lot of games released afterwards, was fairly simple and solid. The gameplay played out better than before and combat was simple and enjoyable.
The world was designed perfectly with synching into the dark world as an act of genius, and it gave you more than a dozen dungeons to complete, almost twice as most zelda games released after it.
Combat is hard if you aren't good at 2D zelda games and still difficult to master for most people, providing a tough challenge to most people.
All in all, it wasn't annoying and dumb like a lot of later zelda games and stands as a masterfully crafted game.
