The game begins as a temple is under attack as a dragon that we will known as Ignitus quickly flees with a small purple egg that he takes to the river in the hopes of saving it from danger as it soon arrives at a swamp where two dragonfly parents decide to raise the creature that hatches from it which is a purple dragon they name Spyro along side with their son Sparx as years later they are playing until they are attacked by a gang of apes which they escape thanks to Spyro using a powerful fire breath so his parents tell him the truth so now Spyro and Sparx decide to journey to learn the truth of the young dragon's past where soon he meets Ignitus as that is when the legend of Spyro truly begins.
This series of Spyro is a little different then the games that were out years ago as they had alot of item collecting , mini games to play and defeating enemies with your fire breath as this time Spyro does alot more with combat as he must defeat his enemies as he travels to different locations of the game as they include the Swamp , Ice Fortress and the center of a volcano as he must rescue other guardians like Ignitus if he hopes of putting a stop to the black dragon known as Cynder from doing her evil plan.
Spyro's famous fire breath returns in the series just like it has in the older games as this time he must master new powers of the elementals as they include Electricity , Ice and Earth as each of the Guardians train him in the arts of those powers to help him and that you should know that each of these powers can be upgraded to more powerful skills when Spyro finds magic gems as the red and green recover his health and magic , purple fills up his fury meter for his ultimate attack of that elemental while the blue gems you should keep a eye on as those are what you need to upgrade your skills.
I really enjoyed playing this game as this game stars a few famous voice actors as Elijah Wood does the voice of Spyro , David Spade does Sparx and Gary Oldman does Ignitus so it was awesome to hear these people so if your like myself and love the little purple dragon or just need something new to play then give this game a try as it is worth it if you ask me.
