May not be as good as the old Spyro games, but still not bad.

User Rating: 8 | The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning PS2

My 15th review after Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Ahh yes, Spyro was one of those classic gaming mascots I knew and loved next to Crash Bandicoot, and I even loved Spyro's old crew from the classics. First three on the PS1 were smash hits, but while this and it's sequels may not be as good as the old Spyro games, they were okay and not really that bad. Also The Eternal Night was so-so. This is why it will get a B-. Results?! Come! Here they are:

Voice-acting 9/10: Some of the voices were very cool, but Sparx's was okay. I just don't like how they made him talk as well as how they made his personality in it.

Game-play 7/10: It may not be like the classic PS1 games and also no more having the old crew from them, but however, the game-play, combat, and level design can be fun yet somewhat tedious from time to time.

Graphics 8/10: The graphics are cool and rad.

Controls 8/10: The controls are very smooth and tight, not to mention Spyro's attacking moves are awesome.

Sound/Music 9/10: It has very lovely soundtrack.

Lasting Appeal 8/10: Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it gets quite dull and repetitive.

Overall, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is not as good as the PS1 classics, but it's still not a bad game.

The Good:

-Cool voice-acting

-Colorful graphics

-Nice soundtrack

-Spyro's attacking moves are very tight and awesome

-Smooth controls

The Bad:

-May not be like the classics

-The game-play, combat, and level design can sometimes get a bit tedious

-Sparx talking and his personality in this trilogy

They need to make more Spyro games with the old crew back. That's all I have to say. Good day.

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning on the PS2 gets an 8 out of 10!
