Very similar to the first Legend of Heroes game but with new characters and story.

I found this game to be just as fun as the first game in the series. The characters are very fleshed out and its fun to watch them grow throughout the game. This game doesn't really change anything from the original which is fine, because I had a great time with that one. They made the pet system a hair more useful with more things you can feed your pet, but it's still very uninspired. I do like the Legend games because you can sit and immerse yourself in a very good story and not have to worry about how fast or what combination of buttons you are pressing. The game play is very simple and straightforward. If you are looking to play a good book then this game is for you. The game focuses on story and character development. If you are looking for something new then don't look here, but if you like the standard rpg formula then this game is perfect.
