Despite a few flaws, this is a decent free-roaming experience where everything breaks. Hulk smash!

User Rating: 7.5 | The Incredible Hulk PS2
The Incredible Hulk for Playstation 2 is, despite many mediocre to poor comments, worth one's time.

It's true that the graphics are unquestionably inferior to that of the versions on the next-gen systems, however they are not as rudimentary as some make it out to be. One issue is that, since the PS2 does have much less power than, say, an Xbox 360, you can only see limited parts of the environment at a time-the rest is a blue expanse that comes into detail as you approach it. The wide-open levels result in a couple other glitches, but in general it is tolerable.

The controls are competent, but the game's greatest asset is it's destruction spree experience. Everything breaks, and players get landmark souvenirs for smashing the most famous buildings in New York to the ground. Army forces will come after you if you cause too much trouble, but luckily you have many options for taking down enemies. Building up rage by fighting will allow you to unleash a powerful Thunderclap or an instant heal. There are many upgrades to unlock by accomplishing certain feats, and some secret characters give you much to strive for as well.

The story is not painfully short, possessing multiple storylines and numerous enemies that encourage you to explore all your capabilities. Voice acting is mediocre (Bruce Banner frankly sounds emo), and facial detail in cutscenes could be better, but on a whole it's alright. In conclusion, The Incredible Hulk for PS2 has surmounted the obstacle of a less advanced system pretty well, and is a solid sandbox game that should hold players over for a fair amount of time.
