Resident Evil's sibling

User Rating: 5 | The Evil Within PS4

The Evil Within for the Playstation 4 is about a madman trying to posses one of the characters to return to the real world as he was in a dream like world in which you started in but was put on a knock out state. In the beginning of the game, you (Sebastian Castellanos, a detective) and your partner Joseph Oda go investigating a crime scene in a hospital call "Beacon Mental Hospital", as you check the security camera, see a white hooded figure (Ruvik, a madman whom died long ago) kill off the policemen and look at the camera towards you and that's when you really start playing. The gameplay of The Evil Within is like playing Resident Evil 4 but you can't dodge or have a ending blow to a normal "monster" and have less ammo that you have to use it wisely, you can melee but it's doesn't knock the enemies down but instead stun them for a little bit, also you can upgrade your health, weapons, maximum ammo that you can carry and increase the different types of bolts effectiveness. The graphics of The Evil Within look very similar to Resident Evil 6's but more clearer due to a powerful system and better HD handling, in which some area are still very dark but the game's lamp will light the way, 3/4 of the whole game. The sounds in The Evil Within just doesn't have those scent of evil lurking at you music and noises and it voice actor are great, but the "monster" make hissing noises only. Overall, The Evil Within is in anyway like Resident Evil 4 with more focus on surviving, even after beating the game or collecting everything to 100%, won't give you the option to have unlimited ammo, if you just wanted to play around.

Gameplay: 4- Plays like Resident Evil 4 but with no button to press to dodge or do a ending blow.

Graphics: 5- Like Resident Evil 6, with more HD visual.

Sound: 7- Decent voice acting and good soundtrack.

Value: 5- Play like Resident Evil 4 mostly and doesn't have much thing from Resident Evil 4 that could make it easier to kill off those "monsters".
