2019 Review-Beautiful Unbalanced Grind

User Rating: 5 | The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited PS4

The first online MMO version of Elder Scrolls, Elder Scrolls Online (no longer One Tamriel or Tamriel Unlimited) has been out for 5 years, and aside from a few graphics upgrades, and minor fixes the games is really no better off than it was 5 years ago. The game is horribly unbalanced, has maddening over powered bosses and group content, under powered "champions", mundane repetitive daily quests and almost non existent rewards and treasure.

ESO is plagued with the same repeat glitches and crashes, most of which have never been fixed or occur each time a new update is added to the game. Each new dlc brings with it crashes, frame rate drops, frozen games, "unusually long load times", players who's skins have not loaded in that look like shadow people, glitched quest givers floating in mid air, bosses and players being glitched into walls, floors and other objects, unable to move or even die, glitched npc speech and so on and so forth.

Unfortunately the attitude of Zenimax has degraded so poorly that it no longer keeps it's original promise to plus users and does little to make plus attractive. It refuses to give plus users free access to ALL dlc's by playing a semantics game calling them "chapters", "zones", or "expansions." This is to rob the plus user of the dlcs they were promised every quarter. As if that wasn't under handed enough, they put out "expansions" (they later call dlc in the crown store) and even though you paid for it, they come out with dungeons for those "zones" and charge you again for those if you want to play. Unless you have plus then dungeons are free. I know, it makes no sense. Furthermore they decided gambling crates and crown gems are better cash cows than the original crowns so they put almost everything you want to buy in gambling crates. The prey off of people's gambling habits to get cash for the game instead of honest trades in crowns and the crown store, where you could purchase exactly what you wanted,if there was anything in the store anymore. They raised the crowns allowance but it's a moot point when all there is to buy are gambler crates.

Elder Scrolls has come almost nowhere in 2019 and will undoubtedly get worse by next year. The game has overrun it's course. It's time for a new Elder Scrolls and Bethesda would be smart not to ever let Zenimax touch another one of it's games. For an in depth run down of the game in it's current state visit my blog, it is too long to put here.
