World of Warcraft...I mean Elder Scrolls?

User Rating: 2 | The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited PS4

The title sums it up, even though i do not find mmo rpgs fun especially WoW this felt like a knock off in an elder scrolls skin. Sure, the graphics were good, the set design was good and it had the nostalgic soundtrack we all love, but that is where it stops. As Francis the raging youtuber said elderscrolls stands for three things: innovation, beauty and perfection. This game had beauty, yes. it was somewhat innovative, by that i mean they made it online, thats the only innovation. Perfection, well too put it nicely this was far from perfect. It was pretty to look at but it was so bugged and flawed for me too notice. The controls were all stuffed up and very far from the unorthodox controls of the previous game that we now all know and love. The constantly re spawning villains were also annoying, i know, i know, its standard mmo game mechanics, BUT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ELDER SCROLLS. After visiting Mehrunes Dagons plane of Oblivion in ES iv and Sheogoraths plane in ES iv's dlc the shivering isles (the greatest dlc ever), i couldnt wait to visit another plane of oblivion, especially since it was molag bal (loved his mace in skyrim). But when i started it i couldnt believe how generic it was, it looked like dagons but blue and grey instead of red and orange. The combat is even worse then the previous titles in the franchise and has standard MMO fighting styles. There was lack of law system and i couldnt find any guilds (i dont know if there is any too this day). it just wasnt an elder scrolls game, i would expect this from an mmo for sure but the fact that bethesda let another company use the rights too their award wining franchise was a big mistake. i thank Talos everyday for making it a spin off and not elderscrolls VI . It just felt wrong compared to the likes of oblivion. For 200 million dollars i expected far better. Next elder scrolls should be the same as before and online should be less focused on and it should BE MADE BY BETHESDA. Rather than huge servers maybe small parties of friends that can explore tamriel with you and help you with missions, even after they have done it. Come on, how awesome would it be to have a group of four doing dark brother hood quests where you take out a target each and have too cooperate and play off each other or else you have to restart, to me that sounds fun. Honestly my hopes were really high for this game and that is partially why i hate it as much as i do, ive been waiting for multiplayer since morrowind. But honestly this game should be crafted with care like elder scrolls has always been and not made as a subscription fee cash grab with micro transactions.
