Overly Complicated. Confusing. Frustrating. Slightly Fun These are adjectives that Describe Morrowind.

I have played every single Elder Scrolls game and I can safety say Morrowind is the one I found dull to play. It's not dull because you have have nothing to do in the game, as a matter of fact you have loads to do in the land of Morrowind. After creating your character in an overly complicated menu you are free to choose your path. Steal loot from various caves and dungeons,go hunting,do some quests or just be an ass and kill whomever you like. The world is also quit amazing. And I mean graphics. While Arena,Daggerfall, Oblivion and Skyrim have a stereotypical mythical look to it Morrowind is completely unique looking with very strange trees grass and creatures all around the large world. No the thing that makes this dull is that 90% of it isn't fun. Though there are multiple factions to join the quests (aside form the Morag Tong) the quests are extremely unoriginal and not very repetitive,a majority of them being fetch quests. As for combat well that is even worse. If you don't have your blade or blunt skill high enough you will keep missing with your weapon and the enemy will easily kill you. Like I said before there are multiple places to explore in Morrowind but getting there is really a pain. The only way to find it is if you listen very carefully as the poorly acted NPC's tell you hints (Take 150 paces to the north if you see a tree with yellow bark you've gone to far etc) or you will be completely confused. If you know how to use it your journal might help you out but since it is muddled with old quests and other useless garbage you might find yourself not even glancing at it. I didn't even really participate in the main story really because I wanted to do my own thing so I can't really review that but what I have heard it was quite good. Overall honestly I think Morrowind got its praise, not from fun but from it's newly 3-D world something Daggerfall lacked. Perhaps if I played this before Oblivion I would have given it least a solid 7.5 but nothing higher than that.
