This game is HIGHLY overrated.... I got this game the moment it came out over a year ago, and its been sitting on my shelf collecting dust ever since. I always try to get into it and play it, but its terribly monotonous and repetitive. Try to imagine Everquest with no other people around...Everquest is bad enough, but imagine its just you and about 1000+ npcs that say the exact same thing over and over. Building skills takes a long time and the game revolves mostly around finding creatures to kill in the wilderness to gain experience. There are several ways to approach the game and you can basically have the story go in any direction you want, but its still pretty boring, and it gets old fast. Also, the so-called 'easy to use' world editor takes an experienced and professional leveler to use properly, otherwise you have a sloppy mess on your hands. Modding the game is supposed to be easy, but the complex directions that you get, especially with the officially released mods, are difficult to install properly. The best aspect of the game would probably have to be the sheer freedom you have in making characters...you can choose from any number of basic classes or combine or create from scratch, i.e. you could have a character that excels at wearing heavy armor and wielding tremendous weapons, yet also is a master of elemental magic. Another fun aspect is that, if you manage to get powerful enough, you could stroll into a random town, murder all its inhabitants, and stroll about it like you own it. But other than senseless murder and freedom of customization, there's not much else worth playing for. Overall, this game is better off left to extremely fanatical RPG players...the casual or light gamer should stay away from this all together, and even big fans of RPG's will probably be turned off by most aspects of the game. Also, the lack of a multiplayer option just destroys the game's replay value.
