My review for Loading Screen: The video game.

User Rating: 8.5 | The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition XBOX
Loading Screen: The video game is a very different game from what we're used to seeing on the market. Usually, video games will tend to have a small mini game to break up the action, then end to get you back into the core game. Well, in Loading Screen: The video game, the mini game actually takes up 50% of the game.

That's because originally, the mini game used to be a game itself that was titled "Morrowind." It belonged to a franchise named "The elder scrolls" that centered on sprawling gameplay that let you role play in a massive world. The groundbreaking thing about it though, was that it was not an MMORPG. That means no internet service required.

However, with Loading Screen: The video game, the game takes a different approach with it's gameplay by not even letting you play it. At first you think this has to do with the massive storage that was put on the disk, but you begin to realize over time that the "Loading screen" is actually a huge part of the game. The main mechanic to the game is that there are none: the game consists of an non interactive slideshow that gives information about it's minigame.

The minigame itself is like how it always was on it's debut on the PC: the gameplay is the same, the feel is the same, just about EVERYTHING is the same. (It even includes the expansions!) During your time through playing it, you may want to reload your game if you have died or screwed up, and it will switch back to the main game.

My main problem with Loading Screen: The video game is that they should have just canned the idea of making you stare at a slideshow for more than 5 minutes and focused more on the minigame, or heck, make the minigame the actual game! Bethesda must have thought that we had all the time in the world for this game, so they threw an already time consuming game into one that focused on even more time wasting.

Overall, Loading Screen: The video game gets an 8.5. The minigame is incredible, but I just don't have time for the actual thing.
