Looks like the general needs a tune up!

I was very excited to get a Dukes of Hazzard game on the PS2 but I was really worried that it would be a let down like the earlier versions. After playing it I can say I was both happy and sad at the same time. The game is basically an interactive episode of the series which means that boss hog is up to his old tricks again and the dukes have to save the day. In the game you drive around Hazzard and complete different tasks like escaping the cops; tailing someone, or racing. The biggest problem with the game is the driving which is the main part of the game. The car is way too loose and the suspension is way too soft. Hazzard is a decent sized town but there's not much going on there. The game could have been alot better if there would have been an option to play with the cars physics. Also it would have been nice to add more of a sandbox feel by at least building up the center of town and allowing you to get out of the car and roam around the town and talk to townspeople; or maybe walk ito the Boars Nest and get into a bar room brawl like in the show. The graphics were also kind of weak for the PS2; they were just a little better than the PS1. The shiny spot here was the voice acting which was done by the original cast and the awesome original music from the show.

With all that being said there still is alot of fun to be had here if you take your time and practice your driving. Also having a good contoller would help due to the cars accelerator control being pressure sensitive. Hopefully we will get one more Duke's game that will put it all together.
