The Darkness 2 is a fun and interesting homicidal romp through 1990's New York, with an interesting story and cast. You would be doing yourself a great disservice if you skipped over this game, especially if you are in any way a fan of the comics or the previous game. I have only one complaint with the story of this game, but that's just because I have read the comics, my issue is that it references Jackie having known his father before he died, but according to the comics Jackie's father should have died the night Jackie was conceived. The action is fun, if a bit repetitive, and the unlockable skills make it even better. As I said I am a fan of the comics and I was delighted to find out that one of the unlockables is the Darkness armor that Jackie usually has in the comics. You should definitely buy this game, but with the story being so short you may want to wait until you can get it for $30 or less, or perhaps rent it.
