Great value for money game, mixing good old awesomeness with an incredible (if a bit gory) religious themed cocktail.

If you are looking for a game that is characteristic of its era with polished design and step-to-step player friendly approach just keep looking.

If on the other hand you find yourself missing that romantic emotional mix arcades used to have, the feeling of pushing yourself to give it just one more try before going to bed, combined with the righteous fury brought by the dismay of the game's rng gods this is the game for you.

Presenting a little boys nightmarish adventure in his mom's su-real themed basement Bind of Isaac is definitely not a game lacking of cruelness. The enemies you encounter ranging from hell's most disgusting minions to simple flies and tortured babies, are cleverly designed offering a great variety of fight mechanics giving a challenge even to the most experienced of players as levels pass by.

Controls are simple and direct and will soon give you a sense of familiarity with just using two pairs of direction buttons (1st one to move 2nd one to shoot) and a button to place your bombs. Randomly generated levels are filled with hidden or not power ups many of which, completely change your approach in battle giving you various new abilities. Be careful though, as not every power-up combination will be good for you and it is up to the player's experience of the game which ones to pick and which ones to leave rotting in their pedestals. Stacking them can result in various changes to isaac's appearence varying from hilarious to brutal.

As you progress in the game completing levels and clearing many times it will adjust to your experience becoming increasingly difficult and adjusting to you skills by unleashing new enemies for you to encounter, random harder bosses and even more characters to play with. Even though all the new characters are similar to the main one with a few minor tweaks its one manages to give a sense of a unique feeling.

All in all binding of isaac is a great game and I would suggest it to anyone providing he is a good old games lover, a pop-culture acolyte and maybe a tiny bit of a masochist :)
